Twin towns' traditionalism, gastronomy, cultural and sport programs along Mures, without borders (CSALI-TH)

The project targeted the implementation and development of a joint social program and event series between the two partner-towns “Csanádpalota” and “Lipova” based on co-operation and communication. The project included well-designed activities, which came to life by joint (both Hungarian and Romanian) effort.The project carried out 11 common activities between August of 2010 and June of 2011: 8 cultural, 2 gastronomical and 1 sport event took place during the given period. The cultural and gastronomical events aimed at recognizing the social heritage, the traditions and habits of the two nations. Each activity was a new possibility for the population of the two towns to get to know each even better, thus paving the way ahead for mutual knowledge exchange and development.The target group is the entire population of “Csanádpalota,” which means 3144 people affected as well as the entire population of “Lipova” which means another 11236 people addressed . Altogether, the project directly affects 14380 people. Additional target groups are the population of the two regions; the local economic environment such as companies, enterprises; the civil authorities; and the tourists visiting both towns.
