PROJECT
FINISHED
Owing to a contact seminar named ”Creativity and Innovations in Handicraft and Art” which took place in the Finnish city of Espoo in October 2012, we met the school Omnia - our project partner - and agreed on the beginning of our cooperation. As a result of further communication, we realized practical training of two Finnish students and two teachers in our school. The project is another important step to develop our cooperation the main purpose of which is a mutual exchange of experience in the field of fashion, design and multimedia. A final shape of the project was created during a personal visit of the project coordinator in Omnia where she had the opportunity to have a look at the school facilities and to discuss forming the units of learning outcomes. The aim of the project is to improve knowledge and professional skills of our students, increase their chance to find a better position in a labour market, motivate all the students of our school on one hand, but also our future applicants on the other, to take part in similar projects, to encourage students carry on their studies and to be involved in after – school activities. What is more, the project should contribute to growth and improvement of the knowledge and professional competences of our teachers, to be significantly conducive to classroom methodology and help our school closely cooperate with organizations and companies in our region. The aim of the project is not only the practical training of our teachers and students itself, but also exchanging ideas, classroom methodology and making people being more aware of the branch in Europe – wide context. The project is a significant move to establish a wider international cooperation with other schools and companies in EU.There will be four students from 3rd and 4th classes participating in the project. The two of them are the students of Modelling and fashion design and the other two study branch Multimedia. The choice of the students will be based on the strictly stated criteria, among which the most important part will be evaluation of their professional skills, level of English and interest in the studied branch. Two teachers who will take part in a practical training will be chosen from the experts of the two previously mentioned branches. Also in their cases the criteria will include level of English, professionalism and their interest to work on the project tasks. The main activity of our students will be the work on set project tasks in the environment of the partner school which should be directed towards gaining an internationally accepted qualification according to the European system ECVET. Then the teachers will do the job-shadowing of their Finnish colleagues. Besides visiting the school workshops and special classrooms they will also monitor the teaching techniques, become familiar with the school documents and statistical data in the areas which are necessary to be innovated . A part of the project will be an informal familiarization with the Finnish working environment, education system and the culture as a whole. The progress and coordination of the project will be supervised all the time by the main guarantor, the staff will arrange technical material, the contract and content conditions of the journey. The students´ job content will be developed according to ECVET methodology, and the Finnish partner will oversee to complete all the objectives which results from the contract. Both contracting parties will cooperate with each other. In the end the Finnish school will confirm the Europass mobility to our students and the results will be the units of learning outcomes.Besides the direct impact on the direct participants the outcome of the project will be mainly gaining other possible types of teaching techniques, the introduction of another innovations, making valuable labour – study international contacts, improvement of the students´ and teachers´ orientation in a labour market in the countries of EU, making our school as a whole being involved in progressive activities which could improve a general position of the school in the local area. The benefit of the project will be a wider impact of activities such as exhibitions, lectures, seminars, workshops, days open to public, information published on the school websites, Facebook and in local media, not only on the students and teachers but also on sister companies, institutions and other schools which our school keeps in touch with. Our school might become the centre of spreading innovations, new experience, skills and teaching techniques, and may have a positive effect on its region in a broader context.A long – term benefit will mean having positive international relations in the field of professional training, and thus enable repetition of professional projects and mobility, visits of foreign teachers and – wide cultural range of knowledge to enrich teaching process and after- school activities.
