The term “agricultural mechanization” is used to describe tools, implements and machinery applied to improving the productivity of farm labour and of land; it may use either human, animal or motorized power, or a combination of these. In practice, therefore, it involves the provision and use of all forms of power sources and mechanical assistance to agriculture, from simple hand tools, to draught animal power and to mechanical power technologies.Mechanization is a key input in any farming system. It aims to achieve the following:• increased productivity per unit area due to improved timeliness of farm operations;• an expansion of the area under cultivation where land is available, • accomplishment of tasks that are difficult to perform without mechanical aids;• improvement of the quality of work and products;• a reduction of drudgery in farming activities, thereby making farm work more attractive.Modern farm requires farmers with different skills. New skills have to be built among students future farmers and effective use of farm mechanization is a basic skill necessary for the modern farmers. This is of particular importance for those introducing machinery for the first time. But effective utilization of farm machinery requires more than transfer of information. Building such skills requires infrastructure, trained personnel and time. This is reason why Gjorche Petrov School decided to apply for practical training in farm mechanization. The objective of this project is students to gain theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary for the effective utilization of agricultural machinery and recognize benefits that bring agricultural mechanization.Students will also learn importance of farm machinery management because of its direct relation to the success of management in combining land, labour and capital for a satisfactory profit. For this purpose, 24 students will be involved in 14-days training in Croatia. When choosing a partner for the realization of the project, the following criteria were taken into consideration:- the partner to be reputable institution that offers conditions that are necessary for the realization of the project objectives, - to have experience in similar trainings and - to be in the nearby surrounding because the same crops are grown and students will be trained to operate and apply farm machineries to cultures which they have on their farms. After the training in Croatia, the students will share the gained knowledge and experience to the other students from the school. The guidebook how to use tractors safely and how to overcome some of the health and safety risks while operating them will be prepared after the mobility. The cooperation with the Center for practical education and training will enable accomplishment of long-term objectives because efforts will be put into integrating practical lessons in the educational programs of certain school subjects.
