PROJECT
FINISHED
The proposed European programme will involve teachers and students from the specialization of Electrical engineering to undergo an extensive training course in the design, manufacture, installation and operation of High and Medium voltage transformers , switchgear and wind turbines in a market leader manufacturer of such equipment.
Our school has a large Electrical Engineering department and part of our curriculum is the subject of power generation and transportation. We teach our students the principles of AC transformers, stepping up and stepping down as well as renewable energy equipment but obviously in a workshop environment it is impossible for the students to fully appreciate the sizes of such equipment. When we try to explain to them that these equipment can be huge in size they cannot understand the real sizes of such equipment.
The aim of the project is to take a group of students in a Transformer / Switchgear and wind turbine factories to see study and understand the design, construction and operation of large size electrical equipment.
Our partners, Messers Koncar D&ST are a leading manufacturer of such equipment and agree to cooperate in making a program that will include both theoretical, practical as well as work placement of our students in their facilities. This will provide our students invaluable understanding for the design, construction and operation of such equipment.
Our students need to realize that by attaining these inside information and knowledge their effectiveness, efficiency and flexibility in the market will make them stand the strong competition in the field. Therefore, the aim of visiting sites which design and manufacture these equipment will give them the opportunity to see and understand first hand these equipment.
Concluding, the expected outcome of this project will be the knowledge that our students will gain a lot of knowledge for the use, design manufacture and operation of such equipment.
The project is expected to take place in the beginning of 2016 in Croatia.
As a supportive document for the dedication of both partners to the project, a letter of intend was prepared and signed by both partners and will be attached on the printed submittal to our local agency under section O.
