Trabajando para la inclusión de las personas mayores del ámbito rural en la era digital del siglo XXI
Start date: Sep 1, 2016, End date: Aug 31, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

This project is included within the Erasmus + 2016-2020 program; concretely it’s a K1 action focused on staff mobility for training in certain areas that have been found to be improved.CPEPA Cuenca Minera is an adults school type CRA which serves 10 villages of the region that are far enough from each other. Being a rural area, there are towns with few inhabitants and, in most cases, with poor communication that makes our center has a varied and diverse both in age and in educational, cultural, economic and interest level students and , what is more important, we are the only option for their training.Bearing this context in mind and, after a careful analysis of the recent years, we have identified the need to train our older students in the use of the information and communication technologies to integrate them in the XXI century society and make them autonomous to perform tasks that otherwise, and given the geographical constraints, wouldn’t be able to do (as doing an online transfer without having to take the car to the "big" nearest town). We also think it is necessary to open the doors of these small "forgotten" villages to the European Union and integrate ourselves within the "community” framework. With this starting point, we have developed this project whose main objectives are:-To bring New technologies into the daily life of our adult students and enhance their self-esteem and digital competence to make them feel that they can be easily integrated in the technological society of the twenty-first century.-To expand the teaching methodologies used in the CPEPA Cuenca Minera and improve our teachers’ digital and didactic competence.-To walk towards the “smart growth” proposed by the Europe 2020 priorities.- To know the educational realities and experiences in other neighboring countries of the EU and create closer relationships to continue working together on future projects and learn from each other favoring in this way the inclusion of our center in the EU.All the educational community is involved in the project and, to a greater or lesser extent, everyone will benefit from it; but teachers will be the ones that are going to carry out the mobility activities listed below:- Two jobshadowing periods into two different adult schools located in Noord-Brabant (Netherlands) and Brussels (Belgium). To both observation periods we are going to send 2 teachers that would be immersed from new teaching forms, theoretical and practical knowledge and would meet new educational systems to apply then here all that can give us a benefit for the educational community.- Three teachers of our staff will be sent to a training structured course for seven days in Leeds (United Kingdom) which will focus on new technologies for teaching in order that our staff acquire knowledge and learn new programs and technological resources to apply in the classroom.- A training course organized in Finland will be attended by 3 teachers. With this experience we aim to know the education system and the daily work in a country with very good educational reputation. All the aspects learned in these experiences, will be then shared with the rest of the staff in training courses to get a global learning. Also we expect that this experience is not left only in our center, but we want to give it the widest dissemination by its publication in different media (newspapers, radio, local and regional TV), on the school website and in talks organized by the councils of the different villages. Open materials will be created to all members of the educational community and we will talk to CIFEs to organize courses and information days in order to explain and share in detail our experience in this project.Bearing all these arguments in mind, we are sure of the huge impact and benefit for teachers and students in terms of personal enrichment and globally the entire educational community. In such a small, forgotten and with few opportunities area as it is, being part of this great project is the only way to open the borders to internationalization and have opportunities to meet and experience new techniques and educative ways. In the long term, after having put into practice all the learnt aspects, the benefit will be noticed into the academic results as the methods that work best in each course and each individual group will be applied.
