Толерантността и солидарността - средство за преодоляване на стереотипите сред младите

THE PROJECT CONTEXT:The recent terrorist attacks in France, the so-called "March for Tolerance", the refugee wave into Europe from North Africa and the Middle East, the situation in Ukraine and the challenges related to the so-called "frozen conflicts" in the Eastern Partnership countries, show that the theme about tolerance and multicultural dialogue is still valid and should not be taken for granted. In view of the challenges in Europe and beyond, the current project will examine tolerance from the perspective of the EU enlargement as well as in terms of the labor market, focusing on:*the big structural problem which Europe faces - youth unemployment;*cultural factor in management-other aspect of tolerance, which has emerged as a competitive advantage in the labor market. The Participants of the project will be young people from the Republic of Bulgaria - EU member state, from the FYR Macedonia - EU candidate country and from the Republic of Moldova - country, that signed an Association Agreement within the framework of the EU Neighbourhood Policy. Following the above and on the basis of the 4/8 areas of action in the EU Youth Strategy - 1) Education and training; 2) Social Inclusion; 3) Culture and creativity; 4) The Young and the world, Bulgarian Memory Foundation, together with the Association of citizens "Macedonian-Bulgarian friendship" FYR Macedonia and "Bulgarian Municipality in Gagauzia", Moldova, offer the project entitled: "Tolerance and solidarity - a tool for overcoming stereotypes among youth". OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT:The main objective of the project is to promote the ability of young people to communicate and work in a multicultural environment. The ability of young people to be tolerant and to be able to show solidarity will contribute to their competitiveness and adaptation to the multinational labor market.Sub-objectives of the project are to:- Attract the attention of young people on the importance of developing active European citizenship which is open to the world and based on EU common values;- Promote cooperation between young people from Bulgaria, EU member state and young people from FYR Macedonia and Moldova, following the path to European perspective. In this way the young people from the two non EU countries will be helped in a process of adoption and promotion of European democratic principles and values;- Promote intercultural dialogue as a process where those living in EU and beyond can increase their ability to cope in a multicultural and multinational environment;- Change the attitudes and overcoming the stereotypical thinking of young people toward "different";- Develop the ability of young people to identify common problems and to find common solutions;- Promote acquisition of knowledge and exchange of best practices from young people to young people;- Promote the Cyrillic alphabet as important part of Europe's cultural diversity and as being one of the three alphabets used in the EU, which could be defined as the alphabet of the EU enlargement;- Promote methods of learning and perception through art, developing/encouraging skills for self-expression;- Increasing the motivation of participants to acquire soft skills and competencies with a view to their personal development and skills.NUMBER AND PROFILE OF PARTICIPANTS:The number of participants is 60 young people aged between 16 and 20 years from the Republic of Bulgaria, FYR Macedonia and Moldova. The participants from Bulgaria are disadvantaged because they are from families with low social status due to economic and social reasons. ACTIVITIES AND METHODOLOGY:The project is based on 5 main chapters of activities which can be divided into: preparation; conducting seven days exchange in Sofia, Bulgaria; dissemination of project results; analysis of results; preparing the final report. , The active, discussion, interactive and situational methods of non-formal education methods will be implemented during the project in order to develop 3/8 Youthpass'competences .RESULTS AND EXPECTED EFFECTS / LONG-TERM OBJECTIVES:The results should represent the achievement of project’goals, namely the participants to acquire transversal key competences; to develop communication skills and work in a multicultural environment in which to be tolerant and able to share solidarity; to get inspired for innovative and creative initiatives in the context of European integration. The long-term project benefits are related to: the formation of the prescribed thinking, based on the European values; improving employment prospects for young people in and outside the EU; overcoming stereotypes and removing prejudices among young people.
