This project aimed at increasing the security level of the environment by improving the fire service units preparation for rescue and fire-fighting operations within the cross-border region of the Białowieża Forest and construction of an integrated system of population and environmental protection within the cross-border region of Białowieża Forest of Poland and Belarus by means of expanding cooperation between rescue services. These goals are planned to be achieved by purchasing 10 rescue and fire-fighting vehicles and one lifeboat for Polish organisations, 8 fire-fighting vehicles for Belarus fire service units (4 for Brest and 4 for Grodno), as well as rescue equipment sets as: compressors of high pressure for charge of insulating masks with compressed air, insulating masks, power cutters with reserve disks, mobile pump, mobile electronic generators, spreader-cutters, jacks chainsaw with reserve chains and bars for Belarusian fire service units; conducting one training in Belarus and Poland and one project-closing conference.
