TIC E COGNITIVISMO will undergo the retraining of teachers in the use of new communication technologies (ICT). This development is not particularly aimed at improving teacher ICT skills, nor allowing better use of ICT in traditional teaching but at improving knowledge of ICT impact and uses in society to enhance teacher interaction with both individual young people (as regards their individual development) and other social agencies (involved in the progression of young people from education to vocational training).For the majority of young people ICT will not only serve as an instrument of knowledge but also as a central tool for training and for interaction in the world of work.The project will analyse and define what tools are necessary to further increase students' skills to prepare them to enter into training and the labour market. This will influence the type of training to be offered to the teaching industry to bring them in-line with the knowledge and experience of young people in the use of ICT thus harmonising the teacher/student role.Outcomes will exist as a initial report on the current situation in each partner country; a report on the needs of both teachers (and students) in the field of ICT; a dedicated project website (providing a virtual e-learning laboratory, chatroom and newsletter) and a CD-Rom (acting as an off-line version of the website). All materials will be produced in EN and all partner languages (DE, EL & IT).Dissemination of project results is planned through production of a demonstration version of the CD-Rom for wider circulation, through a press campaign, through the release of articles to specialist journals and through the use of individual partner websites and existing national partner networks.
