Venue: Vienna Involved Volunteers: 1 Project Duration: 14 months Hosting Organizations: Grenzenlos- Interkultureller Austausch, Austria Sending Organizations: Maailmanvaihto ry-ICYE, Finnland Involved Volunteers: Eeva Airikkala Within the project “This Ability II” Eeva Airikkala from Finland took part in the voluntary service for 6 months at the Grenzenlos office. Eeva was involved in the international summer project and supported us within the implementation of civil courage projects which where supported by the European Youth foundation. Eeva is a wheelchair user with education in social work. This project was coordinated by Grenzenlos within the frame of the MELANGE Programme. The MELANGE program is the EVS in Vienna in close cooperation with wienXtra in behalf of the city of Vienna. Within the program the volunteers and host projects are supported and connected in order to get to know each other, share experiences and - simply - to have an enriching time. Within Melange several free time activities and cultural events for current and former EVS volunteers are organized by Grenzenlos The main objectives for all involved organizations: + to break down barriers towards people with disabilities + to be a role model for other EVS sending and hosting organisations + get new inputs + broaden the organisational horizon + receive intercultural and foreign language input through hosting an European volunteer + Stregthen partnerships through a concrete EVS activity +create a joyful learning space for volunteers
