The secret of happiness is freedom!
Start date: Jan 30, 2015, End date: Jul 29, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

In the world has a number of hotbeds of war and crises and there is a very tense time at the moment. Young who were born in the free world can?t imagine life in the war. Young people don?t know what they ancestors have gone through and therefore they don?t know how to evaluate freedom and independence. The main purpose for the project is to show for young that freedom is not self evident. We would like that young people understand how much effort freedom and free self-realization require from us and how much effort our ancestors had to do in order to achieve democracy. All participants will talk about their countries history, wars, current and previous regime, fight for freedom, ancestors? lives and the war efforts. Youth Exchange participants are from: France, Italy, Finland and Estonia (from each country have 6 participants). In addition, two tutors participate from each country. Exchanges are for people ages 15 and older. In this ages of people can perceive how society works. In the first day the participating countries will introduce their countries history and aspects of society. Young also will organize some cultural evenings where participants introduce their culture, music, traditional food, etc. There will be form mixed teams who draw up a plan Dream State. During the project all participants will go to trip that to learn about the most important sights from history of Estonia. Young will spend times at camp for two days. The camp organized by Estonian Defence League where the young people can identify themselves as ?forest brothers?, who hid themselves in forest and fought for the freedom of homeland. There will be form a ?Freedom of the Chain?, where also all townsfolk will welcome ? this idea comes from the ?Baltic Way?. At the same time will be presented concept of a Dream State, as it was done during the Restoration of Independence. After it will come an history memory game called ?Ajaloovillak?, which is similar to the Estonian well-known broadcast ?Kuldvillak?, where can test youngs? knowledge what they have learned and experienced. At the end of the project the participants will know both about own and other countries history and regime. The meaning of freedom will be understood by young people and they don?t take it for granted. This is important that young people understand and respect their ancestors? experiences and efforts ? that current generation would be living in a democratic and fulfilling life. This experience makes young people and they appreciate more the peace, freedom and other countries sovereignty. This will promote democracy for the future because new generation upholds peaceful resolution of problems and respects the peace.
