The RUTA OF LAS BAHIAS project aims to maximise the value of the natural and cultural heritage of the littoral areas of 8 zones of analysis of the Atlantic Area, through the creation of a network (Itineraries of the Bays). This network seeks, on the one hand, to strengthen synergies and links at the level of the management and organisation of resources between littoral and rural zones (cf. back country and urban zones). On the other hand, the network will make it possible to put into effect a common methodology for integrated management of the natural and cultural heritage by means of a series of new infrastructures, such as a Centre of Environmental Education and Active Tourism, a Virtual Hothouse for Enterprises, a Centre of Interpretation of the Bay, a Bureau of Urban Ecology, etc. Achievements: ✔ Creation and consolidation of a network of public and private bodies for the sustainable development of territories with strong environmental and cultural potential based on the bays. ✔ Creation of a model for the internal operation of the network using New Technologies. ✔ Promote networking between partners to obtain tangible products facilitating the sustainable development of territories. ✔ Meetings and work seminars. ✔ Development of new partnership perspectives to pursue the network ✔ Development of a methodology model to harmonise all the studies analysing the territorial resources carried out for each partner in the project La Ruta de las Baías. ✔ Proposals (structures and services) to be developed by local authorities who are partners in the project. ✔ Definition of a methodology model defining good practices in view of the objectives of the project. ✔ Creation of a database of good practices on the sustainable management of the bays in the Atlantic Area. ✔ Dissemination to a wide audience and socio-economic representatives, both public and private, which most fully represent the different bays.
