PROJECT
FINISHED
The project consists of a training course dedicated to youth mental health workers and aiming to develop competencies in using non-formal education methods for the promotion of youth mental health. The objectives are to raise awareness on principles of non-formal education and the way they can be used in mental health promotion, to develop competencies in designing and implementing activities based on non-formal education methods and to facilitate networking and cooperation among youth mental health workers from different countries. During the 7 days of the training course, participants will be involved in exercises, group work, creative workshops, role-play, simulations and other non-formal activities. These activities will provide examples on how mental health can be approached by using the principles of learning by experience and will create a learning space for participants to design their own methods of non-formal education on mental health related topics. Through the competencies developed among youth workers, the project is expected to increase the capacities of the organizations involved, in offering higher quality mental health education to their young beneficiaries and to share this knowledge with other organizations around Europe.
The project will take place between the 22-28 September 2014 in Cluj-Napoca, Romania and will bring together 24 mental health workers and two trainers from 6 countries.
