The mindful quest
Start date: Sep 5, 2016, End date: Jul 4, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

This project for a youth exchange "the mindful quest" will gather 38 young people from France, Bulgaria, Spain and Romania around the theme of social mixity with mentally disabled people, to involve them in project activities. This project aims first at organizing a meeting, between young "neurotypics" and some mentally disabled, to promote our similarities and the development of a common form of expression, using art practices, enhancing the individual and personal universe, the perception, influence, knowledge of each individual, . The project will be based on the experience of involved young leaders, together with artists and supervisors from outside who will get together in February 2017 for a preparatory meeting. Then, the participants, ready to work on the theme because of the preparatory discussions and research, will meet in Paris then in Auvergne from the 9th to the 28th of April 2017 for debates/reflections on the space given to disabled people in our societies and the concrete means of inclusion possible, with communication/expression workshops for exchange around individual codes and languages, artistic practice workshops (dance, theatre, music, circus, visual arts) so they can reveal themselves, building the bases of a common expression and nourishing a common creation, through participative methods giving enough space to spontaneous, individual and collective initiatives. This work will be a tangible and diffusible symbol, answering the questions of general social inclusion, of what it is possible to achieve with a mixed group of people, in a large sense and in various areas. The participants will be accompanied and helped , in their learning and in the development of new initiatives in their own countries, by skills, tools, methods and relationships they have acquired throughout the project.
