CONTEXT & BACKGROUNDGeographical context: most of the activities will take place in Bratislava, the capital city of Slovakia. It is very probable that several one-time activities will be held in other Slovak cities or in the neighbor countries.CirKus-Kus, the first school of new circus is a Not-governmental organization that has been founded by a young and active team of professionals. The organization is working with very vast community. From 3 years old kids and kindergartens, elementary school pupils and schools, youth, teenagers, adults, families up to seniors. Main focus of our activities is on kids, youth and families. The activities will often take place in Bratislava cultural houses and centers, kindergartens, schools, universities, theaters, festivals, parks, on public and private events. THE PROJECTProject The First School of New Circus brings the phenomenon of New Circus, circus pedagogy and the concept of komplex circus trainings to the public in Slovak Republic. There is no other institution in Slovakia which is actively working in the field of New Circus arts and education. We see circus pedagogy and its means (circus arts and teaching) as an innovative and effective way how to naturally develop and train essential motor, artistic and soft skills.CirKus-Kus, the first school of New Circus works in New Circus area. As the only organization in Slovakia, we use circus training and circus pedagogy as a tools for active education and development of individuals. We are working with various age groups: kids from 2+ years up to seniors.We are offering various circus activities as: courses, workshops, performances, open trainings, kids camps and other.OUR OBJECTIVES- The main project´s aim is to help spreading the information about New circus, circus pedagogy, circus arts training and the First School of New Circus in Slovakia to the public.- Project aims to work with different age groups of public towards a komplex development of essential soft skills- Project aims to motivate the public towards healthy lifestyle, including active and regular physical-exercise practice to motivate the public to "not be affraid" to start exercising by offering a large scale of attractive physical activities where you can spot your step by step progress.OUR EVS VOLUNTEERSWe are looking for motivated, active and creative young people who are interested in working with kids, youth, adults and socially disadvantaged groups. The incoming volunteer should be proactive, flexibile, passionate about new projects and new ideas, and most important a supportive member of the team.The future volunteer should have interest in working with "creative" startups, people (esp. kids), culture and art: theatre, circus or other related arts, in sports and education. Previous experience in cultural startups, theater, circus, sport or education area are very welcomed. Any pedagogic skills are most appreciated. We are looking for a person who wants to learn more about how to start a poject, teaching and working with various groups of people, and the new circus domain. THE IMPACT AND LEARNING OUTCOMESVolunteer will be be step by step led to:- help us with promotion of CirKus-Kus, flyer distribution, posters, stickers, other tools- help us with building the circus community in Bratislava, Slovakia- lead and manage circus lessons for children from 3-15 yo. These lessons may take place at different family centers, kindergartens or in elementary schools across Bratislava.- manage the EVS activities, fill the monthly reports, make pedagogic plans and structure. Daily communicate through emails with the team and the managers- manage and have own personal project (in the field of teaching, theater, community, marketing)- help us with circus workshops for public (family days, team buildings for adults), clown animations, happenings and performances- help us with material making, cleaning and transporting to the lessons - help us with social circus projects- be active in developing circus skills, train and still improve:), - be ready to work also during weekends, you may have your free days during the week in some periods of the year (esp. May-September)- share communicate and discuss all the troubles and problems that we can solve them togetherExpected impact on volunteers:Volunteers will be able to experience the cooperation with our team, the community, kids, youth, interested public or private institutions and the other public in Slovak Republic. They will participate in all project activities from the planning to the evaluation part. They will develop and reinforce new competencies, skills, qualities, abilities. Last but not least, they will meet new people, spread their network and form long lasting relationships. All these factors gives the volunteers an unique and valuable complex of experience which leads towards a special competitive advantage for their future job seeking within the job market.
