This proposal aims to increase and to spread the knowledge about the EU through implementing a new course "The EU as a Model of Globalization: Experience, Values, Perspectives" for students of the Mari State University and through conducting a set of accompanying events for wider audience to highlight the benefits of cooperation in the modern global world.The target groups are students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages as future teachers and disseminators of EU-knowledge and students with non-EU related subjects.Indirectly the project involves representatives of public authorities, teachers of foreign languages and social science, pupils of the Mari El Republic and the Russian Federation and the general public at large.The objectives of the project:- Give systematic knowledge about the EU as a model of a successfully functioning union- Broaden professional outlook for the subsequent transfer of knowledge about EU- Encourage scientific activities related to EU issues- Increase interest in EU issues among a broad spectrum of people- Foster openness and tolerance in relation to global worldThe project activities implement academic part - new learning course "The EU as a Model of Globalization: Experience, Values, Perspectives" embodied in curriculum at the Faculty of Foreign Languages, optional e-learning course on platform Moodle for involving students of any Bachelor or Master non EU related programmes, and scientific research on the EU-related issues. This part allows the participants to acquire knowledge, develop interest and promotes research on the EU. Another part of the activities target the wider audience in form of roundtables, workshops, All-Russian Contest of creative works for youth.The very important outcome of the project would be that the involved participants are more open and tolerant in relation to global world. They disclosure the potential for cooperation instead of isolation and can profit of it in their professional and personal life.
