The Development of Bicycle Tourism and Informational System on Lithuania-Belarus Border Region

Partners intend to contribute to the creation of environment friendly and balanced tourism system on the Lithuanian-Belarusian border region and to enlarge the attractiveness of the region to local people and travelers. Expected Results: The project will improve the possibilities for cycling tourists in Birštonas, Oshmiany and Grodno. New bicycle paths will be built in Birštonas (Lithuania) and Oshmiany (Belarus), 12 places of rest will be constructed. The provision of information about the places of interest will be ensured by placing almost 400 information stands, tables and signs in Lithuania and Belarus. Trainings on safe cycling will be organised for schoolchildren. The project will be advertised in press, on the television and radio. 6000 maps for cyclists and 12000 information guides will be produced and disseminated.
