Description of the project:Notably a growing number of migrants and refugees from conflict areas has entered Europe, evoking both, political and moral dilemmas within the European Union and beyond. Although immigration has always been an integral part of European economic affluence and cultural heritage, recently it has increasingly been opposed. Further on, Europe is witnessing a rise of xenophobia and cultural stereotyping, escalating into political extremism and radicalism. How does this influence on young people every day life? Having in mind that for local community to prosper the basic human rights of people living there must be respected. People living together has to share values of solidarity, cooperation, justice and respect for the cultural diversity. Most of all, people has to feel as important part of the community and the responsible for its development. On contrary, today in Europe we are witnessing great fear and uncertainty for our lives in public places. This is not the life young people what to live. We want Europe we fell secure to move, to travel, to explore and to learn to respect diversity on which Europe is based on. We want not only to be spoken about European values but we want to see them implemented in practice. Main aim of this project is to gather together young people from different parts of Europe, as well young people with refugee, asylum seeker, internally displaced and migrant background. We aim to create an open space where people can share their life stories, fears, concerts for their future, we will provide to the participants secure space to express themselves and to realize that they are not alone in this, that there are other people who feel the same, and that there are the people how already went through same experience. We aim our participants raise awareness that diversity is something that surround us, we aim to encourage critical thinking of young by doing various activities. Objectives of our project are: - to strengthen values of solidarity, democracy and friendship- to discover new cultures and sense of respect of diversity- to explore the concept of diversity, its limits and potentials;- to create space for ‘’peer to peer’’ learning- to provide a learning space for participants to gain the basic knowledge of the Human Rights- to boost participants self-esteem and self-empowerment- to understand reasoning and motivation behind people’s views and attitudes, discover how public opinion is formed and encourage critical thinking. Before arriving all participants of the Youth Exchange will prepare photos for the exhibition with an aim to promote inclusion, human rights and solidarity in Europe.
