The analysis of the opportunities of the use of geothermal energy in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg and Satu Mare counties (SzSzB-SM-Geo)

The projects main goal is to summarize the geothermal resources of the investigated transboundary region and to make a feasibility study of its sustainable economic use. The use of geothermal energy reduces our dependence of imported crude oil and natural gas, but also from direct import of electricity.The project objectives are to create a feasibility study to develop a theoretical basis for the geothermal energy using. The theme of the project deals with an actual question which is correlating with the themes of using renewable energy sources like geothermal energy for public purposes, and the questions of the sustainable development, including the socio-economic and environmental questions.The target group consists in the Romanian and Hungarian chambers of commerce and industry, the regional and territorial administrative institutions, the townships of the region.
