In a previous project called “Madrona has an answer” a group from Gävleborg visited Catalonia for the purpose of promoting inter-european exchange, environment sustainability and knowledge of rural development. Now the group from Gävleborg would like to invite their friends from Catalonia to experience Sweden. The project “Gävleborg and Catalonia keeping it clean” and will teach participants about environmental sustainability. Participants will get to experience rural and wilderness areas of Gävleborg. We will learn of environmental problems that the region is facing and how this area is dealing with them. During the experience, we will make an effort to live as eco-friendly as possible. Eat vegetarian, walk instead of taking the car and discuss how we can adapt our everyday lives in sake for the preservation of our planet.General objectiveThis project will develop a group of youngsters from northern and southern European countries. With an improved knowledge on the importance of nature in our lives but also the importance of developing healthy activities in environmental areas. This project also highlights the importance of the feeling to be European with European values and the feeling to making a change for the future. Specific objectivesDevelop critical observation and direct action on the social experience and natural environment of young Europeans to promote sustainability living. The objectives will be based and grounded on informal and non-informal learning activities. - Start the day with high level of motivation to learn a lot of new skills during the day.- The objective of the ice breaking activity is to develop one group of youngsters with independence of nationality and origin. This is to make a whole group of motivated and involved in the success of the project group.- The visit to Gästrike Återvinnare is to acquire knowledge about good practices in the environmental protection related to the waste. - The interim evaluation is to have a relaxing moment to think about the knowledge acquired during the day and to fix it in order to build a real good and complete Youthpass.- The workshop about sustainable development is to acquiring practical skills by using a "learning by doing" method.- The guided tour of the cultural heritage of Gävle is to have an approach on the surroundings of the place the activities are being executed and to have contact with the local community. - The visit of the local politicians is to have an impact on local administration in order to change the locla politicians in relating to the topic of the project.- The sport activities in Boulongerskogen is to share leisure moments with the method oriented to the implementing healthy activities in the place of the project.- National nights is to get knowledge about the traditions and the daily life of the youngsters of its country. It is important to know the life of each person and where they live.- Traveling to the scout cabin in Sandviken is to change the living environment and get knowledge about Sweden's rural areas. - The workshop discussing Swedens right to public access is to know important and democratic rules in each country in order to improve the knowledge of European rights and citizenship all over Europe.- The guided tour of Sandvik to know how international companies in the area is workning with sustainable environmental issues.- The expedition to the Gävles archipelago is to have direct contact with nature by the sea. But also the important role the youngsters have to protect these areas for continuing healthy areas.- The visit a historical place of importance is to know the relevant places related to the identity of the country, region or capital. Number and profile of participantsWe will be a total of 30 people, including leaders. The age of the participants has been decided to be between 18 and 26 years. To ensure a balance between men and women in the project, we decided on the partnership that the lower gender should not be less than 40%. We are also working on include intercultural participants from both countries.Activities and methodologyThe set of activities is varied and adapted to the needs of the partners. It is closely related to the subject and oriented to achieving success. The methodology used to conduct the project is active and highly participatory. Its based on non-formal and informal learning of skills, abilities and competencies.Results and impact.The results of the process are given by the objectives outlined above. The expected impact will be several. Thus for each participant, but also in our localities, regions and countries, as the project has a clear objective and European projection.Possible long-term benefits. The project is based on sustainable development, so that the new generations will be aware about keeping the earth clean from the start. It will give all the participants more knowledge about the environment and how to change habits easy.
