Cesvov is the local centre of voluntarism in Varese, whose aim is the valorisation and promotion of the culture and work of voluntarism in our place. The city of Varese is a 80.000 inhabitants city North to Milan and the nearest city Malnate (17.000 inhabitants) 5 km far from Varese are the two territories involved in this project. In our local community, the activity of the associations, La Finestra, Società di Mutuo Soccorso di Malnate e dell'Insubria and Pol.ha are a relevant part of the inclusion policy for disable and elderly people, and these associations manage social services in cooperation with national sanitary service and social care of municipalities. Moreover, they take care of free time, socialisation and inclusion in the local communities of all those users, by means of various activities organized by the help of volunteers of the associations. The aim of the project is thus to improve on one hand the inclusion of the disable and elderly people involved, giving them the opportunity to share an international experience and intercultural understanding. In this frame, the project aim is also to contribute to a more extensive and experienced understanding of the European citizenship, European awareness and democracy by all the actors involved in the project. The intervention and projects aimed to the other hand to create awareness and involvement for the growth of a culture based upon integration and social justice – in particular promotion of involvement of young people in volunteering and in the community initiatives such as active citizens. The involvement of the EVS volunteers in inclusive actions help them to know better, what means and how it works in the social field (with disable people, marginalized people such as elderly people) and provide them a positive experiences of successful inclusion through sport, free time activities and involvement of the local community. The project consists in 4 volunteers hosting projects in 3 different hosting organisations active in the field of social inclusion and marginalisation. Two volunteers will be hosted in association LA FINESTRA ( Malnate) an association for inclusion of people with physical and mental disability, one volunteer in SMS ( Malnate) – Società di Mutuo Soccorso - a day centre for elderly people and one volunteer in POL.HA (Varese), a sport association for disable people, most of which are very young people. All these organisations are members of CESVOV and have already experience in local partnership. The activities are: work with disable people and elderly people (animation, education, occupational therapy, organisation of sport and free time activity) and active promotion of European citizenship and European tools of learning mobility of individuals ( promotional meetings in schools, intercultural learning events, web writing) During this project, it will be adopted methods and approaches of non-formal education and will be respected rules and values of the Erasmus+ program and EVS Chart. Thanks to European Voluntary Service, the involved volunteers will be able to develop their abilities, acquire new knowledge, learn a new language, and know different approaches of intervention in social fields, in the management of human relationships and in the intercultural debate. This experience will have a long term impact on EVS personal paths and about their future choices. They experience the everyday life and the role of smaller local social NGOs in civil society, will contribute to the development of a more active approach to citizenship and solidarity and increase the individual commitment towards the community. The European volunteers live together and independently in shared flats and will be supported by the coordinating organisation throughout the year, being also a contact point and offers shared activities, networking, workshops, help and support to the volunteers in the youthpass training, in the language training and in the intercultural learning workshops.
