The participants will be granted internationally recognizable qualifications. Project’s aim : The aim of the project is: development of teaching competences of teaching staff (7 people) at the Applicant’s School within the field of the Montessori method specifically the area of mathematics and language teaching and gaining formal international qualifications. Number and participants’ profile: The participants will be 7 members of the teaching staff of the Applicant’s School chosen from teachers of grades 1-3 and 4-6, teacher’s assistants and counselling staff (school psychologist). The Applicant’s School research on teachers’ development needs showed the greatest lack of training within the field of mathematics and language teaching according to the Montessori method. The analysis showed an utmost need of further education and obtaining international qualifications. Therefore, the participants will be highly motivated to upgrade their education and qualifications, people eager to share their knowledge and experiences after they will have come back from workshops, teacher lacking formal Montessori qualification (or no such qualifications) or highly involved staff members. Action: There will be only one project activity and this is participation of 7 teaching staff members in the workshops organised by Duhovce Institute (Institut Duhovka, the Check Republic) from 6-10.07 to 13-17.07.2015. The method used for the project: Duhovka Institute, where the teachers will participate in workshops, is an accredited institution to give Montessori certificates according to MACTE standards. MACTE standard is internationally recognized and used for giving credentials for teachers allowed to work according to Montessori method. Workshops are a part of this certification process of a system established by American Montessoti Society (AMS). Workshops will be organized with using active teaching and learning tasks involving participants. The project will comply with the Project Cycle Management (PCM). Description of expected results: The main result will be gaining international qualifications by 7 members of the teaching staff at Apliccant’s School, which are internationally recognized (AMS system). Another effect of the project will be implementing a program of sharing the knowledge among other staff members of the School through applying “The System of inside school training”. It is believed the knowledge gained through participation in the workshops will enrich the teaching potential. Participation in the international project will successfully stimulate the School’s development on a European scale, parallel to the European Development Plan of the School. Potential longterm effects Thanks to the project the School will start cooperation with Duhovka Institute, which is a leading teaching center for Montessori teaching in this part of Europe. It will initiate cooperation with other European partners and will provide basis for participation in other projects of Erasmus + Program connected to teacher development, teacher mobility, development of organizations. Qualifications , which participants are going to gain, will strengthen their place on the job market and help to establish the Warsaw Montessori School as a supporting employer for workers.
