The EVS project will be organized by “IMCJB” at “Casa de Cultura” from Burjassot. The project will last five months, from February 3rd to June 30th 2014. IMCJB will take in a volunteer from a country involved in the EVS. The implementation of this project is aimed at reaching the goals set forth on the EVS handbook, which are as follows:- Non formal learning during the voluntary period.- To discover the cultural specificities of hosting city.- To set up mechanisms for involvement of IMCJB and voluntary worker.- To benefit the community (the town of Burjassot).Volunteer will mainly perform cooperative tasks on the Reading Encouragement project organized by IMCJB at our Children's Library. Moreover, he/she will be one of our youth informers at Agència Jove and will cooperate on different existing projects. Volunteer will also be responsible for giving advice and support to other youngsters from Burjassot, who are interested in SVE voluntary program.This volunteer program’s main and most important impact is to help raise awareness in our youngsters about the importance of actively participating in Europe. We do not want they to be inactive and without a critical thinking. Instead, youngsters should be active and dynamic. They must act on a local as well as global basis, with criticism and a will to go under an ongoing learning process. SVE makes all this possible.On the other hand, the implementation of SVE project will be followed by another project called Participant Democracy. We want our young volunteers to encourage other youngsters to take the initiative and get involved in local as well as global decision making processes. We want they to take part. We want they to be those who freely assess, criticize, select and decide. To do so, it is extremely important for the SVE volunteer to be a highly motivated and involved individual with power of initiative. If other young boys and girls see that someone of their age has taken the initiative, this will move them to follow that example.
