The motivation for the SPARK project comes from providing sustainability and expanding the good results and positive impact that the H.O.P.E.S project series (HOPES I&2)had in the partner institutions. This project is a follow-up project to the EVS H.O.P.E.S projects that piloted the concept of using international volunteers to increase the quality of life and opportunities for disabled children. The SPARK project is the final step in CRES strategic 3 year plan of strengthening inter-institutional collaborations in social work building upon the concept of working with needs and opportunities for development in a shared space.SPARK seeks to address the local issue of lack of opportunities for non-formal personal and professional development for youth, which are virtually non-existent for children with disabilities. Dolj is one of the poorer counties in Romania and, according to statistics, the one with the most socially assisted persons. Our findings show that the social institutions are understaffed, lack the finances and mechanisms to provide anything beyond the basic minimum. At international level the project answer to the need of potential volunteer for a practical training programmes in the field of social inclusion The general objective is: Decrease the level of social exclusion and increase the social life of children with disabilities use non-formal education programmes that provide personal(self-confidence and self-esteem, independence, adaptability, creativity and ability to innovate, personal expression, sociability) and professional development(teamwork, communication skills, leadership, youth work, knowledge of non-formal methods, planning and evaluation) opportunities for both the volunteers and the target group Specific objectives: 1. Design and implement together with 8 volunteers 6 non-formal education programs(Intercultural learning self-expression stimulation programme;Multilingualism programme;Increasing social integration capacity;Social Inclusion Awareness campaign;Promotion of lifelong learning opportunities;Uniting people through sports) that address personal&professional development needs of 300 youngsters in 6 social assistance institutions. 2. Increase the tolerance of 240 young people form 4 high schools by presentations(6/school), workshops(30/school) and common events/activities with disabled children(16 common activities) 3. Support the learning outcomes and personal and professional development of 8 volunteers by use of a learning and development plan individualized each volunteer via “experiential learning” methodolog. 4. Rise the capacity of 6 social institutions and 4 high schools to support volunteering learning programmes by creating and implementing a 5 step “volunteer induction programme” 5. Promote the concept of lifelong learning and raise awareness of the ERASMUS+ programme for 500 young people(15-30) form Craiova
