SuperSuinula! 2014 is a project planned to be carried out in Suinula, Finland, in August 2014. The target of the project is empowering young people becoming active citizens. The volunteers learn about active citizenship, what is the purpose of the voluntary work and also how to do voluntary work in a intergenerational group. The project also increases tolerance and awareness of other cultures and strengthens co-operation between five organisations on the youth field. SuperSuinula! project will be held in a small village called Suinula where the most freetime activities are organised by the local volunteers who are mainly elderly people. The project is planned for all in all 10 volunteers from Hungary, Turkey, Portugal and Bulgaria. The duration of the project is 17 days The volunteers are people with fewer opportunities who have no international experience. The voluntary tasks vary from theatre stage constructions and taking care of costumes, organizing a small exhibition, renovation old buildings, gardening. Suinula is a village with spirit of active volunteering, and basically volunteers will participate alla the tasks with local, mainly elderly volunteers. Volunteers will also organize an intercultural evening for all the villagers. During the voluntary period, the volunteers will be encouraged to creativiness and entrepreneurship.
