Start date: Jan 5, 2015, End date: Jul 4, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

Super Leader+ was a training course organised by NGO "Awesome People" in Örebro, Sweden during the period of 22.03.2015-29.03.2015 (6 working days, 2 travel days) following the guidelines for 2014 of Key Action 1 - Learning Mobility of Individuals, Erasmus+ programme of the European Commission. Supported by trainers and support staff, this project included 26 youth workers and youth leaders from 8 countries including Sweden, Estonia, Croatia, Romania, Poland, Turkey, Spain and Italy. The background/context of the project was that quite often youth workers make use of the same methods in various project and this influences the quality and progress of different Youth Exchanges. We noticed that these routine methods we seen are identifiable in many organizations and projects. Therefore we saw the need of our organizations to improve and assist the quality of youth exchanges. We suggested to promote and facilitate an active approach to coming up with good ideas and find new appropriate models of motivating youth. Therefore the aim of the project was to improve quality of Youth Exchanges (in the framework of E+) by providing space for YE group leaders to develop their competences, focusing on motivation and learning support. The objectives were to promote and facilitate an active approach to building appropriate models of motivation; to achieve results and disseminate them by putting gained experience into practice, in local organizations and in international projects; to raise understanding of the role of Youth Exchanges on personal and professional development in youth work and other fields. To facilitate reflection on personal motivation to be an appropriate leader, via in-depth self-evaluation. To build up creative communication skills, support inter-cultural exchange, foster mutual understanding between young people in different countries and to work on the key competences for active participation among youngsters. The project’s methodology was based on the concept of an incubator where the leader plays the role of a facilitator who knows how to involve and motivate youngsters. During the training course participants was provided with sufficient assistance and help to develop their competences and become more active in the field of international youth work. The training course is impacting three levels: the participants, who gain new skills, knowledge and attitudes; partner organizations, who gain more competent and empowered members; international youth work field, which gains more competent projects and events that are held locally and internationally.
