The overall project goal is to Enhance Cultural and Social Interaction and Cooperation between our people who live in their common roots. The CommRoots project aims to contribute to creating conditions for cooperation in 2 areas, utilizing the language of ethnic music and dances as a primary element of cohesion. This is a language which is easily decoded by populations, because it is rooted in a common cultural heritage. The 2 programme areas are rich in terms of cultural, craftsmanship, artistic, and architectonic goods. By promoting jointly these values, a major positive perception of the territory will be created, turning the project into a promotional tool for tourism. Project activities will be a result of joint decisions of project partners. Performances, ethno-musicological research, etc. will receive a great interaction of project partners. The specific project objectives are: - To increase our peoples' awareness in both areas about their common roots embodied in their cultural background; - To promote cross border cooperation between cultural institutions and organizations; - To create solid premises for a sustainable and a long lasting partnership between public and non-public cultural organizations and their communities in both sides of the border. Expected Results: - Cooperation between people, communities, artists, researchers, intellectuals, through series of activities is promoted; - Conditions for a sustainable cooperation from the beneficiaries in both areas are created;- Both programme areas are better known as touristic destinations and cultural heritage sites;- Communities on both sides have better understood they live on common roots and are disposed to cooperation, exchanges, harmony, and social cohesion;- Capacities of local stakeholders to manage cross border activities and processes are enhanced. - 25 organizations and institutions in both countries will partner with each other and establish cooperation for future activities; - They will be able to generate ideas and different forms of cooperation; - Both project partners, respectively Association “Culture-Media-Art” in Albania, and “Researching and Action Centre for Mountainous Convocation” in Greece will have widened their areas of activitiy.
