Stredovek na hrade Šelmberk II
Start date: May 1, 2010,
The project "The Medieval Selmberk Castle II" continues the exchange called "The Medieval Selmberk Castle" organized in 2007. The exchange will be held in the area of ruins of the Selmberk castle built in the 14th century. This area defines the period of The Middle Ages for the activities, the area gives an atmosphere and, of course, gives a name to our project. One of the main goals of the exchange is to develope and to realize some of the outcomes of the common workshops from 2007. During the realization of the ideas - the same organizations/groups from 2007 with total of 48 participants from Czech Republic, Finland, Greece and Italy (Sicily), will participate in involvement the local rural community into the "common European activity", which leads to the traditional crafts and historical heritage preservation. Other activities will be also based on common workshops with topics as history and medieval times in each participating country, discussions about keeping crafts alive and learning, how to use them. The difference of culture, historical heritage and attitude to maintenance traditions and crafts in European countries is important to learn and to respect.
