Staż za granicą paszportem do mojej przyszłości
Start date: Dec 1, 2016, End date: Feb 28, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

‘‘Traineeship abroad is a passport to my future’ is a project of the VET learners’ traineeships in companies abroad. It was designed for 75 students of Zespol Szkol Technicznych in Plock, Poland who are in 1, 2, 3 year in IT classes, mechatronics classes and phototechnicians. The school has 890 students aged 15-19. However, the lack of conditions to self-learning, a small amount of hours of the exam ending subjects, poor results in the final vocational exams, badly equipped school workshops and old-fashioned computer hardware and software cause the fact that our graduates’ qualifications are not enough for the demanding employers and rapidly changing job market.School management realises that there is a lack of correlation between the job market and learning effects, which causes the gap between the skills the young people possess and the demand for them. A graduate knows ‘what he should do and how to do it’ but because of the lack of practical skills ‘he can’t do it’. To confront the theory with the professional reality our school has some partner companies that organise students monthly practices for our students. However, apart from students monthly practices we would like to introduce a new way to confront the theory with practice. We would like to organise traineeships abroad. That is why we found company VITALIS Betreuungsgesellschaft für Modellprojekte mbH in Germany which has been organising traineeships for 17 years. The company’s aim is to increase the mobility of young people in Europe. Their foreign experience is focused on improving the competences and skills of the participants of the traineeship program and the development of entrepreneurial attitudes in order to maximize the substantive and practical preparation for their future profession. The aims of our project are:- Expanding learning opportunities for our students- Personal development through the strengthening of practical skills and enrichment of individual CV- Adaptation to a wider job market- Better substantive and practical preparation for the future profession- Getting to know other ways of working- General improvement of foreign language skills and learning professional jargon in another language- Strengthening the concept of belonging to the European Union- Development beyond the family and the traditional social environment- Introducing additional values to the learning process of students in our school- Introduction the international dimension of education to our school- Contribution to improving the quality of our education- Improving the perception of our school by the environmentBy strengthening and enhancing practical skills in the field of information technology, mechatronics or phototechnics on traineeships, we would like to ensure our students increase in skills and qualifications required by the current job market. We hope that we will reduce the disparities in their achievements, raise the quality of their education, which will result in a better pass rate of the external vocational examinations. We will introduce some practical activities to our students to improve their professional career. We would like our students to participate in the project to gain long term benefits such as:- Better adaptation to a wider job market by broadening and deepening theoretical and practical knowledge and improvement in professional skills acquired at school- Enrichment of individual CV- The opportunity to develop their learning path abroad by gaining knowledge, skills and competencies that they cannot get in our institution while local practices (because of differences in technology, product variety, etc. ) - Personal development- Broadening cultural competence- Increasing motivation to acquire knowledge and self-education- Increasing the level of students’ skills demanding creative thinking.
