start-up: youthwork & entrepeneurship
Start date: Jun 1, 2016, End date: May 31, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

Conversing youthwork and entrepreneurship. That's the idea for this project. Four different organizations develop a specific youth entrepreneurship project with a youth work methodology in their own country. With this partnership we will not only strengthen our own organizations, but also give youngsters a chance in a European context to further develop their youth-entrepeneurship-skills.In Leuven, this project will aim to 15-18 year olds, with prefab business plans in the project called the start-up. In Antwerp, the project focuses on 18-25 year olds with the project Boss. In Copenhagen, it focuses to 15-25 year olds in the project Projektpionerne. In Konneveden the projects will be run in the 4H network to a tool to support young entrepreneurs.Due to the very different projects, there is the possibility to establish a powerful exchange and sharing of expertise. From these different points of view, we distinguish three major themes to talk about at the organizational level:• Supporting young entrepreneurs in capacity development and our role as youth organizations: Focus 1• Young entrepreneurs and fundraising and our role as youth organizations: Focus 2• Strong communication about youth entrepreneurship, and our role as youth organizations: focus 3To get to know eachother and get to know the youngster involved in the other country’s we will use the method "360 ° interview”. Each organization will interview one of the young participants of the other organizations to get to know background and support of the projects. In the next phase we will also link the various youth engaged in the project, which have similar profiles within the methodology “meet your equal. "An important role in the project is foreseen for young entrepreneurs active in journalism. A young filmmaker who is following the process and a summary report of it in Flanders follows the whole project along, just as a young photographer from Copenhagen, provides images of the project, and a young editor from Finland, writes interviews and background on the project . With this methodology the whole process gets a very alive and beautiful journalism output which will later in the dissemination of the project play an important role. With this project we are planning an intensive partnership that makes our organizations stronger in supporting youth entrepreneurs, young people will be stimulated, and will taste the European context and this project will establish new opportunities such as EVS, group exchanges or smaller projects in coöperation.Directly approximately 8-10 youth workers on this project will be involved, and about 270 young people are directly involved. Indirectly, this number will be much bigger, since each organization at the local level has a big impact.
