SPRING CARNIVAL

The necessity of the Project is to give the youth from EU the possibility to explore new cultures, traditions, to give the possibility to get to know Europe better through the holiday traditions to break the stereotypes of young people about different cultures, as well as to overcome different barriers.The aim of the Project is to give the young people from different European countries the possibility to get to know their own culture and the culture of other countries, holiday traditions and to integrate into the European society, to meet each other to promote the intercultural dialogue and youth mobility, as well as awareness of belonging to the European youth community.The objectives of the project:• To ensure the youth Exchange Project and involve the youth from Latvia and other European countries;• to promote the intercultural communication by exploring different traditions of spring holidays (Carnival and Easter) of in Europe.• to organise the Project activities taking into consideration the principles of non-formal education;• to organize different ice-breaking activities;• to promote the unity, personal growth and education of young people involved in the project;• to ensure during the whole period of project activities: team work, group work, individual work;• to inform the youth about different activities of Carnival and Easter holidays, traditions and customs;• to organise different activities, which are connected with the spring and holidays Carnival and Easter;• to ensure in the project involved youth with all necessary materials during the project activities;•to do social work and ensure the creative workshops in the Day centre for Social care and Social Rehabilitation;• Successfully organise Carnival and Easter holidays in the multicultural environment.In the project will be involved 28 young people from 16-30 years from Latvia, Greece, Spain, and Italy.There will be organised the following activities: handicraft master classes, creative workshops, presentation of art objects, presentation of Carnival and Easter traditions of each partner country and nationality, morning exercises etc.Non-formal education methods – different kind of activities: acquaintance activities, ice-breaking activities, excursions, national evenings, creative workshops, city game, presentations, presentations of holiday traditions, farewell activities etc.The project partner countries will gain the experience on the organisation of international holiday project which is connected with the Carnival and Easter holidays, will improve their creative skills, English language knowledge and communication skills. The project will give the possibility to popularize the programme ERASMUS+ and involved partner organisations. The youth will find out the methods of non-formal education and organisations which implements the international projects. They also will widen their horizons, find out about the cultures of European countries to be more integrated into the cultural life of Europe.
