Content /background
A life which is Inactive and without sports causes man diseases such as cardiovascular diseases. Due to possibilities today’s technology offers such as instruments, moving stairway, we have almost forgotten to move, walk. Now a lifestyle which has no physical activity is regarded as a risk factor equaling with risk factors such as cigarette, high cholesterol, hypertension. One of the most important impacts of inactive life is on the muscles. The muscles become weaker due to lack of move. The flexibility of joints decreases. The nerves that manage the muscles decrease their activities. Diseases such as Calcification, overweight, diabetes occur due to lack of exercise.
Obesity has become a globally important health problem. Obesity increases in both developed countries and the developing countries. When we examine the research of Health Behavior in School-Age Children Survey, we see that this problem is experienced in many European countries. The increase in obesity, the fact that it is a problem which needs to be intervened urgently, the increase in the number of obese people has been effective in choosing the this subject.
THE OBJECTIVES OF OUR PROJECT:
The overall objective of our project is to enable the young to adopt a healthy life style and a more active life in which there is sports and move.
Our specific objectives are as follows:
- To raise awareness in the young about the benefits of sports.
- To teach the young the fact that obesity can be overcome by the help of sports.
- To raise awareness in the young about healthy life-styles.
- To teach the young about the diseases inactive life may cause.
- To introduce the different sports branches to the young.
- To develop international cooperation about healthy feeding and inactive life.
- To encourage the young to do sports for a healthy life.
The number and the profile of the participants:
While some of our participants to attend our project are chosen from the young suffering from obesity and the others from adults with enough knowledge about obesity. At least two youngsters will be chosen from the disadvantaged groups in terms of being socially excluded.
In the project, totally there will be 50 participants 5 of whom are the leaders in the project.
The methodology to be used and the definition of the activities:
The activities to be done; various meeting and group dynamism games, information, cultural activities, expert presentation, exhibition of good practices, experienced stories, NGO fair, field visit, Erasmus + presentation, workshops, station work, working on project draft, daily evaluations.
During these activities the methods to be used: Games, talks, brainstorming, research, role-playing, group work, tour, energizers, field visit, practice, group evaluation, presentation, individual work, survey.
Long term possible benefits and foreseen results and impacts:
The young will learn the fact that obesity can be overcome through sports, they will become conscious about the benefits of sports with the presentation of expert, discussions, inferences. Thus awareness will be raised in the young about life styles. They will learn the diseases the inactive life style causes, they will know different sports branches, the young encouraged to do sports for a healthy life will feel the need for an active life and will be inclined to do sports. As a result of strong communication and amalgamation, long term international cooperation will be developed about healthy feeding and inactive life.
