The use of social media as modern business promotional tools for businesses, products and services, is one of the most important components of e-marketing and e-commerce in general. Social media have penetrated the consumers everyday life, but have redefined the way businesses communicate with consumers and vice versa. In the context of marketing, social media enable consumers to communicate quickly and easily with hundreds or even thousands of other consumers, while on the other side businesses , attend all these discussions and online reviews so as to find out the users' opinions of services and products, in order to improve and adapt to their preferences.
The overall objective of the proposed project was to familiarize participants with the basic principles of business - technological environment that has been created through ICT and the acquisition of specialized knowledge in the use of social media for coverage of a company or organization needs in promoting sales.
Furthermore, the mobility project aims at:
• the understanding from the part of the participants, on professional level, of the nature, environment, possibilities and perspectives of social media and their requirements as a media of communication and advertising,
• being able after the end of mobility to describe a clear action plan for the promotion of products and services,
• encouraging low-cost entrepreneurship,
• developing positive attitudes towards the use of new technologies as business tools,
• improving their language skills and developing intercultural skills.
36 students from our school from different specializations, with 6 accompanying teachers in three flows are participated in this project. The groups per flow consisted of boys and girls and we gave priority to graduating students.
The countries selected for mobility was Germany, Italy and Spain. Countries with industrial production, developed e-commerce and modern education and training services.
The program have been implemented, as far as the theoretical part is concerned, at the hosts' facilities while the practical part took place in relevant to the subject of training firms selected by the host institutions in cooperation with our school, the sending institution of the program, and in accordance with the curriculum agreed.
Expected results:
• Developing knowledge and skills of participants,
• an increased level of autonomy and self-esteem of students,
• linking vocational education with the labor market,
• increase of the degree of openness and the European profile of our organization
The proposed project at a national level gave the opportunity to fill the void that formal education presents and in particular the cover of weakness in practice, enriching and transferring know-how and good practices in host countries, in Greece.
The education objects of this mobility project have not widely spread in our country. Unlike more developed markets in which are already in practice. As it is sure that they will soon need to be introduced in the Greek curricula, the impact our program offers to our participants is already important.
