Due to the necessity of school's strategic planning and keeping the status of National Gymnasium, the project "School's strategic development" is going to be carried out. The school has updated the question of the curriculum and extra-curricular activities, as well as the improvement of the learning environment.
The project aim is to gather the necessary information, knowledge and skills on the modern and effective school strategic plan development and implementation.
The project will be implemented in the following tasks:
- identification of the 21st century educational trends, methods, techniques and competencies;
- evaluation of School's Development Plan 2013-2015;
- setting goals, objectives and priorities for the new Development Plan 2016 - 2018 .;
- improvement of teachers' knowledge, skills and competences in the light of the experience of teachers in Europe;
- diversification of formal and informal learning opportunities provided by Ogre State Gymnasium.
In order to achieve the set objectives and tasks three teachers will participate in the learning mobilities.
In courses "Innovative approaches to teaching", "Vitamin C boosts education! - coaching, the non-formal education method to bring out the best from your learners" and "Action Methods Improving Motivation and Quality in the Learning Environment" teachers will learn about European citizen competencies necessary in the 21st century, educational trends in 2020, will explore modern teaching methods and forms of work that contribute to students' motivation and improve the learning environment. Newly acquired knowledge and skills will help to realize cross-curricular approach, provide some of the educational programs and alternative lessons' improvement, as well as contribute to the creativity of teachers new ideas and innovations in school in order to promote the school and attract students.
Three teachers who perform administrative tasks at school, are skilled and experienced in promotion their knowledge and experience will participate in the learning mobilities. Then they will lead and control the whole school teaching staff (40 teachers) working together and in their subject methodical commissions and generating ideas for the new School Development Plan 2016-2018.
The main outcome of the project is the School Development Plan 2016-2018, which serves the priorities and challenges of modern students' interests and needs.
The experience gained in the Learning mobilities will be distributed to school teachers and regional schools in several seminars and conferences. The presentations and discussions will be prepared by teachers, who participated in learning mobilities.
