Craft College, along with educational activities, implements policies of connecting VET and labour market. Therefore we have included 40 VET students, who are finishing education this year, into this project which makes it possible for them to participate in practical work during their 3 week stay in Germany and Italy. Project was developed with support from the local community, related educational authority from the City of Zagreb and Zagreb County. Cooperation with VET schools, which were founded by the above mentioned organisations, on informing potential participants into the project , as well as in the candidate selection, is a common undertaking which will make it possible for all interested parties to ensure that 40 young people undergo practical training in Germany and Italy (20 in each country). Partner from DE KWVD, and from IT Sabcontact, have been included in connecting vocational education and practical experience, will find local SME and mentorship, as they have done before, through several successful LDV projects, as hosts. In their 3 weeks of practical experience, students will enhance and advance their competences, gain experience in international work, get to know work conditions and responsibilities better, gain added knowledge and experience which will enhance their competitiveness on EU and HR labour markets. Clear criteria of selection: an enviable result was achieved during education and practical work, occupations with low demand (according to data by Croatian Employment Service), they will be encouraged to take an affirmative approach towards every day work assignments, and to undergo further training and strengthening of linguistic competences. Following occupations will be included: central heating, water and gas installers/ household repair personnel, mechanics, bakers, will be doing practical work in Germany), while carpenters, tailors and leather ware workers, gardeners/florists, hospitality occupations (cooks/confectioners) will be doing practical work in Italy. For each occupation, a detailed plan will be developed, in cooperation with SME offering practical experience. Project foresees the involvement of Craft College staff, which will spend 7 days in ECIPA, a partner institution founded by craftsmen association, same as Craft College, to cater to the needs of its members (craftsmen and SMEs). The aim of this mobility project is to enhance competences and skills related to development and implementation of educational programmes based on the needs of craftsmen and SMEs, to contribute to a cohesive society, and broadening the opportunities educational mobility. Efficient cooperation between education training and labour is the primary aim of Craft College, and participation in this project will ensure its growth as an educational institution.
