PROJECT
FINISHED
The project originated after REACH Across issued a partner request seeking a youth organisation of a similar age group and with similar activities/programmes. The youth organization at Association Narodno Chitalishte “N.V.Rakitin” have provided wide-ranging international projects and wanted to establish a new project with a new partner group.
The project will take place over 10 days in Bulgaria and will be the second part of a bilateral youth exchange involving young people from Derry in N. Ireland and from Trudovets. Each group will include 12 young people and 2 leaders.
The primary themes are to foster mutual understanding between young people in different countries, especially countries emerging from conflict and to promote European cooperation in the youth field.
The project aims to increase the awareness of participants in relation to cultural traditions, environment and human rights and youth-related issues in other European countries. The activities will have a wide ranging content so as to promote inclusion, personal learning and life enhancing experiences for discussing current issues via debate workshop.
It will also encourage participants to understand the social consequences of our recent conflicts and to make recommendations for Shared Futures on a local and European basis. The project will encourage participants to be more active, healthier and respectful citizens and to develop personal skills, confidence levels, volunteer activities and social input, that will have a positive impact on their communities.
The project will be a combination of educational visits, development workshops, outdoor activities and groupwork . It will aim to give participants an insight into the benefits of European co-operation and to establish a working partnership for future projects.
The project will promote healthy lifestyles, through outdoor activities and sports, as an additional means of fostering social inclusion and active participation.
