The SEWNEW project aims at developing an interactive training tool targeted specifically at existing and future employees in the textiles and clothing sector. The project will encourage increased familiarisation with ICT in order to improve the employability of sector employees. Building upon an initial survey within the sector, the project will undergo a training needs analysis and will develop and introduce a training tool and support manual to improve upon existing ICT skills within the sector. Eventual products will comprise both interactive training materials (on CD & DVD) and a printed support manual with all materials being made available in PT, EN, ES, GR & HU. Dissemination activities will include an ongoing information strategy aimed at informing stakeholders of progress throughout the lifetime of the project, the release of articles to specialist press, the development of web links to organisations active in ICT within the textiles sector and the hosting of a series of workshops to present the end project results. Project beneficiaries include technicians, professional sewers, quality control experts and graduates in textile related subjects.
