This project aims to be learned, applied and generalized of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) methods within the greenhouses around Antalya region especially around Konyaaltı. Pollination and fighting against diseases in greenhouses can also be done via Integrated Pest Control (IPM) methods instead of using chemicals. The crops that are produced via IPM methods are minimum affected by enviromental pollution and also don’t cause any increase on cost. The importance and the value of the axenic food for human health is well known. Being Cancer in the first place many diseases come from chemical pollution. Therefore trying to find ways to decrease chemical pollution is very important. The rate of IPM usage within the greenhouse owners in Konyaaltı is under 0,5%. Our primary purpose is increasing IPM usage from 0,5% to 20%. To catch this purpose, we want to get a IPM training from Biobest NV -Belgium and popularising IPM methods in Konyaaltı area by using the experience/information which is get during our this training project. We agreed to work with Biobest NV from Belgium as a collaborator who has necessary know-how, R&D and experience. The project coordinator is “Konyaaltı İlçe Gıda Tarım ve Hayvancılık Müdürlüğü” who is the public enterprise responsible with running agricultural activities. Our enterprise’s main responsibility is teaching modern growing methods and providing necessary technical support to our growers. We as enterprise aim to provide the necessary training from Biobest NV and to share the information with the growers, as the concept of this project. Other 2 project partners are “S.S. Hacisekililer Citdibi Koyu Tarimsal Kalkinma Kooparatifi” and “S.S. Çakirlar Sulama Kooperatifleri” who are non governmental organisations acting within agriculture industry. These partners will be mainly responsible with communicating with the growers, getting common the learnings within area and provide sustainability of project. These partners are also expected to learn about IPM with the growers. Later, they will see/follow the growers on job, using IPM methods in their own greenhouses during 1 year. Our consortium member Biobest NV Belgium, was established in 1987 in Belgium. Biobest NV has R&D and production plants in Argentina, Canada, China, France, Israel, Mexico, Morocco, Spain, Holland, Turkey, USA and sales activites in more than 60 countries, all about IPM. One of the steps of the Project is taking 7 growers and 3 technical staff from Konyaaltı İlçe Gıda Tarım ve Hayvancılık Müdürlüğü to Biobest NV, Belgium to see IPM methods on place. The project will start with the Opening meeting. The lecture notes will be prepared by Biobest NV. The training period at Belgium is planned as 14-18 th of March 2016, for 5 days. After come back to Antalya, Konyaaltı İlçe Gıda Tarım ve Hayvancılık Müdürlüğü will provide relaying all information/experience to third parties by several meetings as scheduled in below. They also will serve these 7 growers’ IPM methods usage to other growers as a model. In the final meeting the results of the before-after exams will be discussed, the list of participants will be dealed, the efficiency of the training will be reviewed and level of dissemination will be measured. This project will firstly provide 3 technical staff of Konyaaltı İlçe Gıda Tarım ve Hayvancılık Müdürlüğü experience and information on IPM methods. These technical staff will be lead to share the obtained experience and information with other staff, colleagues, growers in charge by several workshops. The project partners of “S.S. Hacisekililer Citdibi Koyu Tarimsal Kalkinma Kooperatifi” and “S.S. Çakirlar Sulama Kooparatifleri” will provide the certain usage of IPM methods within 7 growers for 1 year. They also will serve these 7 growers’ IPM methods usage to other growers as a model. These partners are also expected to learn about IPM methods with the growers. After our project, Antalya where more than 60% of greenhouse production is done in Turkey, will meet IPM methods instead of using chemicals and will be one step closer to more healthy food.
