Senior Citizen's Learning and Travelling Through Space and Time
The project concentrates on increasing accessibility of lifelong learning for older peoplefocusing on their learning needs in the ICT field, from which they are traditionallyexcluded. It aims to encourage acquisition of basic ICT skills of older people over 65who have never used a computer or technological device and reflect at European level,about new methodologies and their potential to improve the way older people learn andspend their free time. On the inter-generational side, the project is designed to facilitatesolidarity and communication among younger and older people in a non-formaleducational setting, where there will be a steady feedback within the groups.The main outputs of the project will be: ICT training handbooks adapted for olderpeople; the creation of a website made by and orientated to older people containing aweb album, blogs and videos; a training methodology for training older people in ICTmatters stemming from the experience obtained throughout the project; trainingprovision to some 60 people on the use of ICT; a compilation CD/DVD of all theactivities of the project; an international seminar on adult training; training activities forthe promotion of inter-generational learning; validation and dissemination of trainingmethodology to senior centres in Europe.
