The project target group at Sedus Stoll AG comprises trainees in the dual system (vocational school + training at the company). For our company, it is particularly important that the trainees are able to acquire technical, social, intercultural and linguistic competencies already during the apprenticeship. From our previous experience we have learned that a foreign assignment of trainees creates a significant added value to the apprenticeship. Sedus Stoll is submitting the third application within the framework of the Leonardo da Vinci mobility programs. With our application we wish to continue offering the opportunity and experience of an internship abroad to our trainees. In their first year of training, the participants were able to gain practical experience which will allow them to distinguish between the various international working environments. Besides an independent and responsible work, the main focus of the internship is on a self-confident conduct towards our domestic and foreign customers. This not only requires good communication and rhetorical skills in the German language but also an excellent command of foreign languages. In addition to a high level of mobility and flexibility of our employees, Sedus places great emphasis on the ability to act in an international context. This competence is mandatory for an export-oriented company. Furthermore, the project strengthens our image as a company with attractive career opportunities and thus leads to a higher number of well-qualified applications. In this regard, we have already noticed on vocational training fairs that potential candidates are increasingly asking for the possibility of an internship abroad. The deployments shall also serve to establish contacts with foreign business partners and increasingly intensify and expand relations. In addition, the project will ensure transparency and acknowledgement of the skills and abilities acquired by the participants which is confirmed by the Europass Mobility.
