PROJECT
FINISHED
The youth exchange entitled SEASIDE will take place in Eforie Sud and Vama Veche between the 14th and the 22nd of September and will involve 30 youngsters coming from 5 different East and West-European countries: Romania, Greece, Spain, Italy and Hungary. The main theme of the project is the environment protection of the tourist areas. The theme is approached from the point of view of tourists attitudes. Unfortunately Romania is a bad example how a sea beach looks after a hot summer day: tones of waste cover the sand. The attitude and behavior of tourists is characterized by indifference, they forget to throw the waste in the bins and leave traces of food and seed shells all around the beach. The other participating countries have also popular tourists zones but they can manage them more efficiently from the point of view of environment protection. That is why the information exchange between the countries related to the theme will be very efficient.
The participants of the project will prepare and carry out a campaign consisting of distributing flyers and posters, singing a "waste management" ballad and exposing a mascot made of waste, in order to get the tourists attention and to make them aware of the importance and necessity of being eco-friendly tourists, individuals in order to save the seaside, to stop pollution and implicitly phenomena like climate change, change of biodiversity and the deep dive of he quality of life. The participants will dialog with the tourists in order to make this awareness rising process more efficient. The youth will also make and place recycling dust bins in different points of the two stations.
During the project the participants will have the chance to develop a wide variety of key competencies, especially their civic competencies, initiative and entrepreneurship and communication in English, skills that will facilitate their inclusion on the labor market. The mobility also aims to change the judgment of people regarding Roma youth, because we will include in our project 6 Roma youngsters who will demonstrate that they are devoted and responsible citizens of the EU too. The acquired competences of the participants will be recognized by detailed Youthpass certificates at the end of the mobility.
