Background of the project:Our school has been "Neue Mittelschule" for some years - the challenges for the teachers are really big, because the level of the pupils vary from very low to very high. in order to handle this situation - since January 2015 also refugee kids have been attending our school- new, modern, creative methods are essential.In the framework of the project "Schulqualität" our school is trying to design, to create the language teaching as modern, as creative, as orientated to compentences and criteria, as possible. And this course will display one step in this direction.Objectives of project:Improvement of didactic, professional and lincuistic skills of the participantImprovement of daily work with studentsGetting to know new teaching methods, which enable the teachers to cope with the school situation (middle school, refugee children)Increasing motivation and satisfaction of the teachers in the daily work at schoolIncreasing understanding for social, linguistic and culural diversity and the ability to cope with people who have special needsInternational opening of our school - exchange with collegues from different countriesNumber of participants:There will be one participant - Mrs Hermine Billinger. She is English teacher at NMS Obernberg, furthermore she is the representative for Erasmus and for "Schulqualität" at our school.Description of acitivities:The contents of the language course "Creative Teaching" is exactly what we need:What does it mean to be a creative teacher?A look at ways of working creatively with texts, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar and areas such as storytelling, music, poetry, drama and movement.The course is practical and focusses on learning through enjoyment and creativity. Participants are encouraged to experience ideas and adapt them to the needs and interests of their own learners. Ideas and materials covered will be of special interest to teachers of secondary and adult students.Results and benefits:Improvement of the language skills of participantThe new teaching methods will be a huge enrichment and help with our teaching situationThe different acitvities of the course will motivate the participant as well as the pupils as well as the whole English team of our schoolThe pupils will gain from modern, creative English lessonsThe fact of taking part at Erasmus is good for the public image of our schoolPersonal gains because of intercultural exchangeImprovement of the ability to handle the integration of our refugee childrenQuality assurance of the language teaching at our schoolGetting to know european teaching and learning standardsMrs Billinger will share her new knowledge with others
