PROJECT
FINISHED
The project "Say Hi(king)!" was initiated due to the extraordinary situation related to the mass migration in Europe and neighboring countries. It is based on sports, outdoor education and social inclusion. Our aim is with the help of sport as development tool to foster solidarity and social inclusion. One very important question might arise: how sport is related to the inclusion? We believe that sport(we will use various sport and outdoor education methods but hiking as the core)through its universality, can transcend cultural, socio-economic and political barriers, which is very important in a international context.Sports are extremely powerful tools for development, especially within international communities. Moreover, sport reflects on different values and can create a bridge between different social groups forming better mutual understanding. The answer could be reaffirmed by citing United Nations which “recognize that sport, as a tool for education, development and peace, can promote cooperation, solidarity, tolerance, understanding, social inclusion and health at the local, national and international levels.”We will start all days with morning sports, most of non- formal education methods will be done in outdoors and we will do hiking (sometimes over the night)during all the main Activity.Another question could be: why Hiking?First of all, hiking is a big individual and group challenge, instincts of self-preservation disappears therefore it becomes easier to analyze sensitive topics, people do not hide under the masks therefore better results could be reached. Youth also learn faster in such environment.Second, we do directly relate it with current situation whereas a lot of refugees had to walk over mountains, cross the sea and borders to reach peace in Europe. We will do similar thing in order to step in their shoes for a while. We believe that this correlation will help us to reach even better results and will help to start thinking about the current situation in Europe.Third, the name „Say Hi(king)“ was chosen because we will combine sports and hiking with special methods where we will analyse own behaviour and important values particularly related to our topic:KnowledgeInvolvementNatureGrowthWe are combining every days active lifestyle with non- formal education methods in youth work. The specific objectives of this project:1.To reach personal development which helps to understand ourselves and reflect on own behavior and behavior of others.2.Challenge the perception of the structures within our society that undermine social inclusion or foster discrimination3.Overcoming the stereotypes of different religious4.To raise awareness on the topic of discrimination5.To build a broader understanding of what an inclusive attitude means and to start inter cultural and inter- religious dialogue6.To understand the connections between culture and sport and to understand the inter cultural aspects of sport7.To raise the sense of empathy towards other people.Well planned objectives will be reached with the help of special non- formal education methods. The context of non-formal education and its methodology provide this insight in planning learning process while using sport. This type of working requires many elements which go from using sport and physical exercise in order to provoke a strong lifelong learning outcome such as improving tolerance, solidarity or trust among nations. The importance here is to conduct a process where sport and hiking become tools for support to achieve the educational goals first. In this case the sport itself becomes secondary to the educational purpose. The main Activity will consist of the Youth exchange to be held in Tbilisi, Georgia from 21st of September to 30th of September, 2016. The APV will be held in Tbilisi, Georgia from 4th to 6th September, 2016. We will be 6 partners (32 participants in total) from Georgia, Ukraine,Armenia,Lithuania,Poland and Hungary. There are two main organizers: "Inovatyvi karta" (Lithuania) and "Youth for the world" (Georgia).
