Within nine days the youth exchange “Save our stories” will gather 45 youngsters from Lithuania as a hosting country as well as from Spain, Estonia, Turkey, Slovakia, Portugal, Romania, Poland and Macedonia as partners. The target group will be active young people 16-28 year-old with lack of opportunities for international experience. Our priority will be given to the participants that face any kind of difficulties in society. The project will take place in Vilnius and will be held on 12.03.2015-21.03.2015.
SAVE OUR STORIES will bring youngsters from different backgrounds to explore the hidden meaning of the legends every nation has, create a common story and connect it to modern Europe. The participants will combine the stories from their origins which will result as one common European legend.
During the exchange everyone will learn and improve their writing, speaking and acting skills. Through non-formal and informal methods we will promote youth active participation in society, inter-cultural learning, understanding through mutual collaboration, as well as European Unity. The project will include many role-play games, storytelling sessions, theatre workshops, meeting with local prose-writer and actor.
On 20 of March - international day of storytelling - we will organize StoryTelling Festival opened to the local community. During the event the participants will perform a theatre play, that they will prepare within the youth exchange, with the focus on inclusion of youngsters with fewer opportunities in the society. As separated and special part of the festival there will be also presented the Erasmus+ with its objectives and priorities to attract more people to the programme.
In order to disseminate results and have an influence also on other countries, participants will create one book consisting of 10 different plus 1 common legend, that will be translated into English and 10 official languages of the participating countries. Those handouts will be shared between the partners with the purpose of promoting the objectives of "Save our stories".
All along the exchange participants will be encouraged to develop new ideas for follow-up activities that they will organize in their own countries.
