In the process of preaccession to EU of Turkey, one of the major issues to be problematic seems to be agricultural area becuse of its structure. For Turkey to reach a level to be compatible with world in agricultural sector, for getting benefit from the investments in rural areas and for agricultural innovations to be carried toward the inside of the fields, first of all, agricultural structure should be changed. land consolidation has broadened its scope and has become a tool for developing rural area.
According to the research results in Europe the clear income increase of land consolidation in Germany 30%, in Switzerland 25%, in Spain 35% and in Holland 15%. Although our country is a country of agriculture this rate is low. If this situation does not change, our country will be in a positin of importer. Besides, the high population growth and problems of this population's feeding stands as major problems.
Agricultural areas where we meet need for food have been getting smaller by being parted for several reasons and this leads to the lands to diminish gradually with also wrong and problematic usages. As a reslut of suchapplications our growing population in our town will face food shortage. Since it is not possible to enlarge the fileds parallel to population growth, then we have to make optimum use of the limited field in our hand by choosing the best methods to getthe highest benefit economically and technically. To achieve this aim, sevaral measurements are inevitable. In order to eliminate the problems of land use is to land consolidate.
We have a must to enable the participants to give high quality and more experienced service through a common work in terms of land consolidation. Our participants will observe the EU applications in land consolidation, state promotions and shared works of partner countries. Our consortium partners will have an opportunity to get benefit from their colleagues' knowledge and experience in Europe in the area of land consolidation which is a new concept in our country.Besides they will be certified through a participation certificate and when returned in Turkey, they will share their knowledge and experience with their colleagues in our town and country. Each member of consortium will add their experience knowledge in their strategic plans, activity reports and websites so that they contribute visibility activities.
To sum up, effectiveness and quality of the land consolidation activities in Samsun will raised to EU standards. Hence, it will contribute to accelerate land consolidation activities that is currently advancing at a slow pace.Evaluation reports and videos of our project will be presented in the workshop of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Cattling so that it will be known nation wide. It will contribute to agricultural policies and enhancemnet of agricultural structure integrally.
