The main objective of EuroTANGO II is to foster the cooperation between EU and Argentina in Higher Education, focusing on the internationalization of argentinian HEIs bearing in mind economic criteria. The focus will be on applied research and technology transfer. EuroTANGO II aims to promote economic and social development in Argentina, through the academic development of high quality human resources, with selected skills, particularly tuned to the labor market. Through the involvement of open-minded, internationally active scholars, argentinian PhD students and post docs, EuroTANGO II will create lasting links, mutual enrichment and understanding between EU and Argentina. Brief description: EuroTANGO II, originates on the good results of a previous project. The Consortium of 20 HEIs, 10 EU and 10 from Argentina and 8 Associates (2 from EU, 6 from Argentina) EuroTANGO. All partners are public HEIs with technical capacity and operational expertise in project management. An excellent geographical distribution of partners covers Europe and Argentina as a whole. The project plans 68 mobility flows from Argentina to EU at Doctorate, Post-Doc and Staff level during 48 months project. Scholar at PhD level will move between sandwich doctorate (6 months) for TG1 and TG2 and Full Doctorate (36) only for TG2. All the prioritary thematic areas were identified as regional needs and covered by partners: Agricultural Sciences (01), Engineering, Technology (06), Geography, Geology (07), Mathematics, Informatics (11) and Natural Sciences (13), with special emphasis in Engineering, Technology and Biotechnology. EuroTANGO II wishes to play a unique role on the development of human resources and international co-operation capacity of Higher Education Institutions in Argentina through increased mobility streams with the European Union, in order to: • Develop the skills of men and women to better adapt to the labour market and promoting cross-connections among people.Improving the capacity of international institutions to strengthen Argentina's links with European institutions and strengthening existing ones. • Promoting European Higher Education system as a framework of excellence within the argentinian institutions.
