S1-L12 Innovation and Design for Euro-Asian Scholars

The IDEAS project will primarily focus on collaboration in science and high technology domains with a special focus on the thematic fields Innovation, Computer Enginering, Financial Engineering, and Environmental Science. It will be implemented through the following main activities:
• Focus on innovation and entrepreneurship in cooperation with Asian universities for facilitating easier and better technology transfer as well as creation of start-up companies.
• Exchange and dissemination of the experiences and good practices for curriculum development, teaching methods, international relations and university management that EU Universities have developed according to the Bologna recommendations.
• Improve the transparency and recognition of studies and qualifications; by giving explicit attention to the further use of ECTS credit system and Diploma Supplement mechanism of Europe, and its derivate UCTS and ACTS, both currently being implemented in some countries/regions in Asia.
• Enable parts of the Bachelor, Master and PhD study programs in thematic study areas at partner universities, through the exchange of academic staff and students.
• Enhance and implement quality assurance of the new study programs at partner universities, by using existing tools such as ENQA framework for quality assurance.
• Update of local curricula and exchanging of teaching modules.
• Joint development of curriculum and delivery of few courses in pilot projects.
• Initiate joint research activities in the chosen thematic areas, with a purpose of joint development of high-quality and innovative research proposals relevant to the regions.
• Organize annual consortium meetings at EU partner universities to monitor and reassess the progress of the project, witch special emphasis how find structures to prevent brain drain.
• Implement partnership agreements with equal rights and obligations for all partners.
• Share good practices between project members concerning development of partnerships with the wider community and surrounding society, including sponsorship and fundraising.
• Provide equal opportunities for all students, with respect to gender, sex, race, religion and disabilities.
• Provide possibility for students to acquaint themselves with the language of the host country.
• Disseminate the findings and successes of this partnership within the European and the Asian universities.
