PROJECT
FINISHED
Two organizations are involved into the project, Secondary School of Business and Administration in Olomouc presents the project, and TECHNIKI SCHOLI LEFKOSIAS 2 is our partner in Cyprus, Nicosia. The project was found after long cooperation with both schools. The project is planned for 15 students and 2 accompanying persons, students will be working in restaurants in Larnaca for 3 weeks. We suppose the workplaces will be in the hotel complex - Sun Hall. The main aim of the project is to gain working experiences abroad, to learn new technological methods, to know recipes of traditional Cypru cuisine, to serve a large number of quests, to set tables for wedding and birthday parties and other meetings. It is the working intership for students who will improve their knowledge which will be spread into theoretical and practical lessons by students. The project also supports extension of healthy Mediterranean cuisine to our region. Besides mentioned acitivities there is also planned other programme - we would like to visit partner school, have a meeting with Cyprus teachers and students, sightseeing in Nicosia and Larnaca, sports matches, trip to Ayia Napa and excursion in restaurants - all these activities are planned by accompanying teachers who are responsible of them. The intership is for students of second and third classes, there will be 15 students - girls and boys and they will be at the age of 16 - 17 years. We want to choose students who are interested in improving their knowledge and with an interest to learn new things. In the project we also support cultural development of our students - they will gain new knowledge about foreign country, they will see different way of life, they can compare life conditions, they will learn different mentality and they will have to accept it. All these aspects could help them in ther future life - they will learn how to be tolerant to another ethnic groups and it also helps teachers - because it supports better behaviour of students in our school. Personal development is very important for our students.
We started to work on this project in December last year and we plan all the activities within 1year. We know that during the stay students improve also their knowledge in English, we also expect increasing number of new students who want to study in our school and better cooperation with social partners. Similar schools like our school have usually problems with fluctuation and we would like to keep students at school, we want them to finish their education, not to go to other schools or job centres.
Participants are involved also into the process of dissemination and preparation - they will participate in language and cultural courses, they will make presentation of the intership.
Evaluation will be done during the intership - in cooperation of Cyprus teachers and accompanying persons, when students come home after the intership, their results will be replaced also by marks.
All projects in last years were very successful and also director of our school, other teachers, parents, students and Regional Office were very satisfied with these activities. Our partner organisation in Cyprus evaluates the project very well and we also change contacts, experiences and the results are spread to foreign countries such as Lithuania, Italy, Finland, Bulgaria, Romania , Great Britain and France.
