Romania LTV & Social Enterprise
Start date: Feb 1, 2016, End date: Jan 31, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

We want to provide 1 year EVS placements for 6 young people form Romania and allow them to volunteer within a social enterprise within Scotland and complement this with a 2 week Exchange for 15 young people from Romania and 15 from Scotland to explore the idea of social enterprise . This will allow them to explore the options of developing the idea of a successful social enterprise or social firm as well as assisting them in identifying and developing competencies that are relevant to successful social entrepreneurial. Having discovered these competencies they will then return to their own organisations and commit to train identified disadvantaged young people in these competencies over a 3 week period . This programme will be replicated in year 2 so in effect, over the 2 years duration of the project we will have 12 EVS placements and 2 Exchanges of 30 young people from Romania and Scotland .The EVS placement will also explore different social enterprise models and expose the young people to different ways they can start up their own projects.[ e.g grant funding, crowd funding , procurement from governments] It will also allow the young person to network across the different participating projects represented and identify similar like minded people and possibly create cross border collaborative projects .The visit will include study visits combining on site visits to relevant organisations involved in social enterprise and involved in delivering formal and informal youth work training.
