The project “RoMancipate Youthself” gives two young Roma or non-Roma persons the opportunity to live and engage in the local community and projects carried out in the central Slovakia region: 2 volunteers for the period of 10 months, from October 2014 until end of July 2015, and 2 volunteers from beginning of July 2015 until end of April 2016. Project activities are to be carried out mainly in beautiful region of Banska Bystrica city and Valaska.The volunteers from France, Italy, Hungary and Romania will work together with the diverse staff of our organization and organizations we are cooperating with in the region of central Slovakia. They will take part in projects addressing non-formal education, NGO and community work, volunteering and activism against racism and antigypsyism. They are going to contribute to the success of the project with their own experiences and ideas and they are going to benefit from opportunities of a new life experience, intercultural learning, non-formal education, and new language skills. Volunteers will throughout the project duration create strong bonds with our organization members and other members of Phiren Amenca international network and thus future cooperation is envisaged. They will represent an invaluable benefit for our team, communities we work with and inter-cultural dialogue in general.
