Roma Football for Integration

In October 2012 a group of 30 young Roma people from Denmark,Hungary, Italy, France and Romany will meet for an integration through sport, camp in Denmark under the name´Roma Football for Integration´(RFI). The theme of the camp is the stereotyped European discrimination of Roma people. The camp aims to promote the identity of Roma people from the inside. Through the camp the youngsters will self-organize tournaments, generate ideas and have equal discussion with a weight on positivity and forces in the Roma culture. The aim is that the youngsters through active participation heightens their self-esteem and believe themselves as worthy European citizens. The Camp will take place in Copenhagen and in Elsinore. There will be a media covering of the project; during the planning, the camp execution and the evaluation. The media covering will support the promotion of the Roma people through the practical view of the youngsters’ successful participation in the camp. The media covering aims to give the citizens of the five European Countries a positive insight in the forces and characteristics of the Roma life. The project is a sustainable attempt to promote Roma integration in the European Union.
